Republican Brian O’Hara for State Senate

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people” – Tenth Amendment to the United States Constitution

Improving Education

Our children are our greatest gift, and it is vital that we provide them with an educational system that is second to none.

Second to None

I will work to create a strong education system that focuses on local control and promotes Oklahoma children’s long term success.

Fixing Our Budget

Our state faces a massive budget shortfall for this fiscal year. It’s time to get serious about how our tax dollars are spent.

Balance the Budget

We should be focused on economic growth, funding education, and investing in core functions of government.

Prioritizing Public Safety

Police, sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, and emergency medical responders are the backbone of our state and local communities.

Prioritizing Safety

A public servant’s first obligation is to the people, and as District 37’s senator I will always stand for our first responders and a safe Oklahoma.

Rebuilding Infrastructure

Well-maintained roads, highways, and bridges are among our state's most vital resources and should be prioritized.

Rebuilding Oklahoma

As District 37’s senator, I will put a priority on ensuring Oklahoma’s infrastructure is sound, sturdy, and reliable both for now and for years to come.

Oklahoma Needs Conservative Leadership Now More Than Ever

“Brian O’Hara is a friend, a conservative, and a man of integrity. I am confident he will serve his constituents with honor in the Oklahoma State Senate, and I am proud to endorse him.”

– Congressman Jim Bridenstine

Conservative Leadership for Oklahoma

Oklahoma needs conservative leadership now more than ever.  Brian O’Hara is committed to advancing conservative, free market principles to solve the challenges facing Oklahoma.

As a conservative, I believe in smaller, more efficient government that respects taxpayers dollars and protects the rights of its citizens.  I believe that federal powers are limited as enumerated in Article I Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution and the 10th Amendment.  This is the foundation of my approach to government.

As a city councilor in Jenks, I rejected tax increases in favor of greater efficiency with the tax dollars already taken from citizens.  I supported local churches, Jenks Public Schools, and worked closely with city government to provide a business friendly environment that encouraged growth and job creation.  I had the honor of being selected by my peers to sit on the budget committee and the Oklahoma Aquarium Board.

For the past four years, I have served as the Deputy District Director for Congressman Bridenstine’s office in the First District of Oklahoma where I have formed invaluable relationships with city and state officials.  As a former business owner and finance executive with over three decades of business experience, I gained invaluable experience in the private sector that I will use to advance legislation that will help grow Oklahoma’s economy and create jobs.

I attended Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia where I served as student body vice president, representing over three thousand students.  I received an associates degree from Montreat College and a Bachelor of Science in History from Belhaven College in Mississippi.

I have been married to my beautiful wife Karen for thirty-four years and have five children, Courtney, Megan, Philip, Sean, and Michael.
